Peninsula Coffee Shops for Laptops, Catch-ups, and Early Shifts
7 Brew opens at 5:30 AM daily and runs till 11 PM on weekends, while Buckroe Coffee keeps identical 6-to-5 hours all seven days.
Coffee on the Peninsula splits into two rhythms that rarely overlap: shops built for someone in and out before a shift starts, and shops built for someone who’s staying until closing. Knowing which is which saves you a wasted stop.
For the early shift
7 Brew Coffee opens at 5:30 AM every day of the week, stretching to 11 PM on Fridays and Saturdays — useful if your schedule runs backwards as often as forwards. It’s a drive-through, so plan it as a stop, not a stay.
Buckroe Coffee Co. keeps identical 6 AM to 5 PM hours seven days a week, with no closed day anywhere on the calendar. That kind of consistency matters more than menu novelty when you’re building a routine around it — no need to remember which day it goes dark.
East End Cafe opens at 6 AM on weekdays too, but it’s worth knowing it also runs a Friday evening session from 7 to 10 PM on top of its usual breakfast hours — a rare second life for a cafe that’s otherwise shut by mid-afternoon and closed entirely on Sundays.
For camping out with a laptop
Cure Coffeehouse is open 7 AM to 7 PM every day, weekends included, which puts it well ahead of most of the competition here for anyone who needs an afternoon, not just a morning.
Persnickety Crane Cafe plays a smaller version of the same game: it closes at 4 PM most days but stretches to 7 PM specifically on Thursdays and Fridays, so those are the two evenings to pick if you need the extra hours.
Firehouse Coffee 1881 runs a steady 7 AM to 4 PM daily, all seven days — the reliability, more than anything else, is the draw if you’ve been burned by a shop closing on you mid-project on a Sunday.
For a weekend catch-up
Column 15 at the Mariners’ sits on the Mariners’ Museum grounds and keeps the same 8 AM to 4 PM hours every day, weekends included — pair it with a walk around the park if you’re meeting someone who doesn’t need convincing to make a morning of it.
Tous les Jours Bakery & Cafe stays open later than anyone else on this list, 7 AM to 10 PM most nights and until 8 PM on Sundays, which makes it the one option here that works as an after-dinner plan rather than only a morning one.
Drip ‘n Sip Coffee & Tea runs a straightforward 7 AM to 4 PM Monday through Saturday and shuts entirely on Sunday — a solid Saturday-morning pick if you’re not trying to stretch the visit past lunch.
Further up the Peninsula
Mobjack Bay Coffee Roasters and Petite Cafe keeps weekday hours of 9 AM to 4 PM but pushes to 5 PM Friday through Sunday, which is the window worth aiming for if you’re making the drive out — it turns a quick errand into an actual sit-down visit.
Something different
Cups and Claws Cat Cafe and Lounge isn’t a stop for someone in a hurry. It’s closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays entirely, and the rest of the week runs shorter, midday-to-evening hours — as late as 2 to 8 PM on Fridays. Go in with the cats as the actual plan, not the coffee, and check which day you’re headed there before you go.
The reliable middle
For a plain weekday morning without any of the above complications, Busy Nothings Coffee Company and Grounded Coffee both run the same shape of week — open 7 AM to 4 PM on weekdays, a shorter Saturday, and dark on Sunday. Neither tries to be a destination, which is exactly why they work as a default.
